Every year, Chicago attracts a large number of tourists from around the world. The city is filled with famous landmarks and attractions that evoke a wide range of emotions. After all, Chicago is often called a city of contrasts. In terms of popularity, it is second only to New York and Los Angeles, two cities with larger economies.

Incredible architecture, numerous parks, impressive shopping centers, the sounds of jazz, and traces of a notorious criminal past — all of this makes up the unique character of the Windy City.

Chicago is also home to one of the largest Russian-speaking communities in the Midwest. This can be explained not only by Chicago's international connections but also by its relatively affordable housing compared with some other major U.S. cities.

Many immigrants believe that after arriving in the United States, Chicago is a good place to get established, adjust to a new environment, and learn English before deciding whether to move elsewhere. But no matter which city a Russian-speaking American chooses to call home, it is natural to miss the language and culture they grew up with. To make adapting to life in a new city such as Chicago a little easier, Kartina TV offers subscriptions to popular Russian-language TV channels.
